For months, Rick has been searching local buy and sell websites to find a bunny. He's been claiming this bunny would be for Cruz, but in reality I'd say it's more for him. Regardless, a few weeks ago Rick was at Petland and found Cruz's new bunny, Bud.
Needless to say, Bud has been a hit with Cruz!
He loves to hold him, hug him, squeeze him, tickle him, look at him, feed him and chase him. Bud patiently deals with Cruz's little, rough hands but loving spirit as he squishes him to pieces. Cruz has become Bud's protector. He makes sure we feed him enough every day. He doesn't let the cats go near his cage to have a sniff (my cats are harmless to the bunny though). He makes sure to wave "bye bye" to Bud when it's time for him to go home and give him a sweet little bunny kiss. Bud even tolerates Cruz's obsession with eyes... poor Bud.
Bud has been a busy addition to the house. Rick deals with the rabbit and his fish and I deal with my cats. It's a fair compromise as I still am dealing with a cat who pee's everywhere due to his illness. My shampooer has become a life saver around the house. It gets put to every day use, it seems.
Whatever the work that goes into the constant vacuuming of rabbit shavings all over the house, he was worth it just for the happiness he brings to Cruz's already spoiled, happy life.
