"Don't read too much into this"

So, tonight Rick comes home from work and hands me a little box and says, "don't read too much into this"... Of course I knew it was a ring then. Being the romantic that he is, he says "it's whatever you want it to be"... funny boy! Before any of you get excited, it's not an engagement ring! He gave it to me because he loves me and is really happy we're having a baby together.
As you all know, I've already been married. I went through a hard time at the end of it and am in no rush to marry again, if at all. I'm fully committed to Rick and our relationship. I'm just as committed to him as I would be if we were married. I love him dearly and hope to spend the rest of my life with him. He is so loving, patient and kind to me. I've never felt as good about myself as I do when I'm with Rick. It's just not necessary for me to be married to make all of that be any more true.
This ring, by the way, is a quarter carat diamond set in 14 carat gold. I've never had a piece of jewelery that's worth so much money... Please excuse my flecking nail polish in the pictures!
